On a beautiful summer day, Angela and Coleton tied the knot at one of our favorite venues, the Tin Roof Barn. We met Angela and Coleton as they began their wedding planning journey and immediately felt a connection! These two had their heart set on a venue that was rustic and romantic, but also invited creativity and personalization. Our bride and groom were passionate about incorporating their own personal touch into their wedding day, and the Tin Roof Barn was the perfect space for that to happen. When Angela told us she felt confident in our work after seeing the many weddings we’ve planned at Tin Roof Barn, we knew it was going to be a great match. We couldn’t wait to start planning their romantic burgundy and blush wedding!
As we got to know our couple, we fell in love with the origin of their love story. Their mutual friend invited them to their boat for the fourth of July and Angela and Coleton bonded over their love for country music! From that moment on they were inseparable, enjoying time together hiking and adventuring with their adorable pup. When Coleton knew it was time to ask the big question, he led Angela on one of his favorite hikes in Hamma Hamma to what they call the Blue Lagoon. Their sweet pup was by their side as Coleton popped the question (and Angela of course said YES)! They enjoyed a picnic, drank champagne, and soaked in the joyful moment.
Whenever our clients have personal details to incorporate into their wedding day, our hearts swell with excitement. Angela and Coleton knew their celebration was going to include many mementos and nods to their families — the first place they added their personal touch was through the floral and greenery. Angela’s parents own a hop greenery farm, so she wanted to find a way to incorporate those greens into the floral design of their wedding day. Obsessed! The combination of hop greenery and rustic decor perfectly fit the design goals Angela and Coleton had for their wedding day.
To elevate the design experience, the bride and groom explored our decor inventory and ended up selecting a few rustic boxes and vessels to use. We love the way we framed their ceremony space with our wooden crates! As a bonus, Angela and Coleton are extremely crafty and wanted to create some of their own decor. They made a super fun schedule of events sign using a pallet board, table numbers, and more! It was so much fun seeing their personal touches and talents incorporated throughout the day.
The color palette was a stunning mid-summer mix of deep burgundy, peach, blush, and mauve. The colors felt rich and romantic and contrasted beautifully against the dark wood features of the Tin Roof Barn. The flowers used ranged from garden roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, and spray roses, to dahlias, berries, and green leaves. The floral design felt organic and natural which fit Angela and Coleton’s vibe beautifully! Loads of hop greenery were spread throughout the reception space, even framing the hand-made palette seating chart they made.
Guest tables featured lush arrangements that had hop greenery spilling out the sides, and a deep mauve gauze runner added softness to the overall design. It also allowed the pops of pink flowers to really stand out, which we absolutely loved! Family is a big deal to Angela and Coleton, and we adore the way they featured family members on the vintage hutch in the reception space. Days like Angela and Coleton’s are why we love planning and executing meaningful weddings, they are filled with love and passion and so much joy! We always have snippets of the event we consider our favorite, but nothing makes us feel better than hearing from our clients about what stood out most to them.
Angela shared with us “my favorite part of the day was when we shared our vows with each other. We both started them the same exact way! With a funny story of how we met, it had everyone laughing,” how adorable is that? We found ourselves in love with this moment — Angela and Coleton were absolutely a match made in heaven! She then shared that Coleton’s favorite part of the day was when he turned around and saw her for the first time during their first look. And trust us, this moment was SO sweet.
Tin Roof Barn has been filled with many love stories and we are so lucky to have been behind so many of them. Angela and Coleton, we hope you enjoy more Fourth of July’s on friends’ boats and hikes in Hamma Hamma. Cheers to your love story!
