Let’s start out with the big ticket items that The Griffin House features: seating for 175 guests, overnight rental options, B.Y.O. vendors, and a dedicated venue team. At The Griffin House, you can truly create the wedding of your dreams. With your contract, you will have access to the main house and grounds from 9 AM to 11 PM allowing you and your vendors plenty of time to get ready and set up for the big day.
With the ability to bring in your own vendors or choose from their preferred vendor list, you are able to hire whoever you trust with your vision. We absolutely love an open vendor policy! The Griffin House does require clients to work with a professional wedding planner (that’s us!) and full-service caterer, but lucky for you we are experienced and love planning events at this stunning venue! Right next to the main house, you’ll find the same stunning views the entire venue has to offer. Guests will get their first taste of The Griffin House wedding experience when they step foot on this terrace. With lush lawns, peaceful water features, and brick walkways, this is an gorgeous setting for wedding celebrations.
This lawn features gorgeous views of the Columbia Gorge. The setting is ideal for a romantic, intimate or grand wedding ceremony. Dress up the space with a beautiful ceremony arch or allow the natural beauty to set the scene. However you design your day, this ceremony space is a dream.
This beautifully landscaped terrace and garden is the perfect place for cocktails. The wide open space invites guests to wander, mingle, and take photos with beautiful backdrops. There is something magical about the walk from the Western Lawn to the Eastern Lawn; we adore the energy brought in as guests leave your wedding ceremony and get ready to kick off the celebrations with cocktails!
Just because the views of the Gorge disappear with the sun doesn’t mean the party has to stop! When you and your guests step into the reception lawn and tent, you will be energized by the dreamy twinkle lights, soft Oregon breezes, and a beautiful atmosphere. This space is the our top recommendation for enjoying a delicious dinner, tear-jerking toasts, and legendary dance parties.
Although those five locations are our favorite, we wanted to highlight some additional locations and amenities the venue provides. These locations are what help bring The Griffin House from a good wedding venue to an incredible one!
The Griffin House offers a large parking lot with ample space for you, your guests, and vendors to park on-site. They also offer a restroom trailer (necessary for large weddings!) and a catering shed for your caterer to work out of. These may seem like minor features but you’d be surprised by how big of a difference they make!
Selecting the perfect wedding venue can be an overwhelming task, but that is why investing in a wedding planner who is experienced and knows the venues you’re looking at is so important! As mentioned, we have planned multiple weddings at The Griffin House and have learned a lot about the venue. Though we keep a majority of our tricks up our sleeves for our clients, we wanted to share some insider tips that are key to having the perfect wedding at The Griffin House.
The Griffin House has specific hours at which you can access the venue and a specific amount of time during which your event can occur. For each client, The Griffin House grants access to the grounds from 9 AM to 11 PM. Within this time frame, The Griffin House allows an event to last for 6 hours. We recommend hosting your wedding from 4 PM to 10 PM! This gives you and your vendors plenty of time to get ready in the morning and clean up after guests vacate the premises.
With a maximum capacity of 175 guests, The Griffin House can host relatively large parties. If any of your guests, like close friends and family, are traveling from out of town or you just want a home base for the wedding celebration you can rent out the entire venue for the weekend. We absolutely love this feature! It helps keep everyone in one place and reduces the risk of running late or getting lost.
It is important to note that The Griffin House has an a la carte vendor policy. That means that it is up to you to choose and contract the vendors for your event. If you are unsure of where to start, The Griffin House does have a list of recommendations!
You are required to work with a professional wedding planner, and we would love to be that team for you! You want your wedding planner to be experienced and know how weddings at The Griffin House operate. This will ensure that your wedding day runs as smoothly as possible. You are also required to work with a full-service caterer, but no worries — we’ve got contacts for that!
The Griffin House has over 50 curated items in its private collection for you to choose from to decorate for your wedding day. We recommend pairing their decor pieces with tableware from the Details Department for an easy and convenient celebration!
There are a lot of things discussed when planning a wedding and it is important that every idea, thought, and portion of the plan is set in one place. The Griffin House will create a client portal for you where you and the venue manager can collaborate throughout the planning process.
